Hyderabad: Man held for cricket betting

HYDERABAD: On Wednesday, the Central Zone Commissioner’s Task Force caught a person who was allegedly organising cricket betting on the ongoing T 20 matches.

According to the report published in Telangana Today, on a tip-off, the task force raided a house at Shahinyathgunj and caught Suraj Vyas (34) and seized Rs 538,000, one laptop, LED television set and two mobile phones.

P Radha Kishan Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Task Force Police, said Vyas was organising cricket betting since 2017.

“He appointed Vishal (35) to assist him in day-to-day betting activities and later formed a chain of punters,” he added.
The police said, Vishal is absconding and efforts were on to nab him.
