Hyderabad: The colleges offering B.tech, B.Pharm, B.Arch, B.Planning and Pharm-D in Telangana were issued legal notice against some old practices which are illegal as well as not prescribed by the Telangana State Council for Higher Education.
The Telangana State Council for Higher Education confirmed that the practice of withholding the original certificates of a student in colleges was not allowed even as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission.
“We have been getting complaints from a large section of students pursuing their Higher Education in Engineering, and other professional courses in Telangana State that the management of their college was withholding 10th Standard, 12th Standard original certificates and not returning it in case the student wanted to discontinue or he/she drop out of the course due to financial burden or wanted to pursue other opportunities.” said the Forum against Corruption.
