Hyderabad-Karnataka gets Rs. 1000 crore for Development

CM of Karnataka, Mr. Siddaramaiah, while addressing a press conference in Gulbarga after the cabinet meeting told that after the formation of his Government, cabinet meeting was held for the first time in Gulbarga. In the meeting issues relating to 6 districts of Hyderabad-Karnataka region were discussed. Issues relating Gulbarga, Bidar, Raichur, Yadagir and Kullpal were discussed in the meeting. It was considered seriously that special privileges could be given to Hyderabad-Karnataka region under Article 371 J of Constitution of India.

The CM told that Govt. has allocated Rs. 1000 crore for the development of this region. He also informed that 40-50 thousand vacancies are to be filled up in Hyderabad-Karnataka region, 25-30% Govt. jobs are vacant. In order to fill up these vacancies district wise details would be collected and all the vacancies would be filled up by end of June 2015. The CM also informed that in Sedam, a hospital with 100 beds would be started. A Dental College would be established Billary. Rs. 52 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a bridge in Jivargi. A medical college was sanctioned for Yadgir. Rs. 56 crore has been allocated for the development of Gulbarga City. In the same manner, Rs. 37 crore was sanctioned for the Urban Development of Raichur. Sufficient funds have been allocated for the development of Govt. Unani Hospital, Gulbarga. Development funds have also been sanctioned for Kuppal, Bellari and Raichur. Mr. Siddaramaiah also reviewed acquisition of lands for industrial areas. Recently, 3232 acres of land have been acquired under IAD Act and after releasing the notification, possession of land has also been taken. Out of the land acquired, Govt. has paid compensation for 1959 acres of land. One member from each of the families from whom land has been acquired, Govt. job will be provided.
