The Telangana (Political) JAC strongly opposed the proposal to make Hyderabad as joint capital for 10 years of Telangana State and the residuary State after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and demanded that it should not be more than three years.
This was one of the points put forth before the Group of Ministers by Prof. Kodandaram, Chairman of the TJAC, in an 11-point charter of demands sent to the ministerial sub-committee constituted to look into various demands and concerns expressed in the wake of the agitation in the Seemandhra region for keeping the State united.
Prof. Kodandaram, in the memorandum sent to the GoM on behalf of TJAC, wanted that the present administrative powers vested with the Singareni Collieries should be continued even after bifurcation of the State. Other demands put forth include distribution of water resources as per the tribunal award, allocation of additional gas allocation as per the demand, power distribution should be made in accordance with Go 53, etc.(NSS)
