Hyderabad: LB Nagar Court pronounced one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs. 2000 to a person who had harassed his wife to get dowry.
According to the details furnished by police, Ms. Madhu Lata, Inspector of Women’s Police, Saroor Nagar had presented the charge sheet in LB Nagar court after investigation against Sangam Sainath who had harassed his wife for getting more dowry.
It was stated that Sangam married a woman in 2009. The couple was leading prosperous life. Later, Sangam started luxurious life and forced his wife to get Rs. 2 lakh from her parents to fulfill his wants.
Vexed with this, his wife had lodged a complaint with the police.
