Hyderabad to host WTDC-10

Hyderabad, May 05: The fifth World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-10) will be held here from May 24 to June 4.

The objective of holding the WTDC-10 in Hyderabad International Convention Centre(HICC) was to identify priorities for the development of telecommunications and information and communication technologies (ICTs), taking into account contributions made by Member States and Sector Members, according to a press release here.

The Hyderabad Action Plan (HAP) will be adopted, setting the future of activities of the International Telecommunication Union(ITU) Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) over the next four years at the Conference to be held jointly by the ITU .

WTDC-10 will adopt a declaration, a strategic plan and an action plan that will pave the way to building on the foundations of a truly global information society for all, it said. The participants will include government delegates, Ministers, Ambassadors and representatives from the private sector, as well as regional and international organizations.
