Government of Andhra Pradesh is organising a week-long ‘Heritage Festival-2012’ beginning from today on the occasion of World Heritage Day which falls on April 18. The tourism department will conduct many cultural and traditional programmes during heritage festival i.e. from April 18-24. The Union Tourism Ministry had declared Hyderabad as the Best Heritage City on February 18th.
All shopping malls, star hotels, heritage places and important shopping centres in the city will take part in Hyderabad Heritage Festival.
The state government has decided to make the festival a yearly affair. All the star hotels will organise Hyderabad Food Festivals. Training on Hyderabad cuisine will also be given during the festival free of cost.
The sound and light shows will be held at Salar Jung Museum, Qutub Shahi Tombs and Golconda Fort. The entry will be free.
