Hyderabad: Fatwa issued against “bogus voting”

Hyderabad: Ahead of Telangana Assembly Polls which is scheduled to be held on 7th December 2018, Jamia Nizamia Seminary issued a fatwa against “bogus voting”.

According to the report published in Telangana Today, this fatwa was issued in response to the questions submitted to Jamia Nizamia. These questions were related to bogus voting and impersonation.

In response to the questions, Jamia Nizamia issued a fatwa and said that bogus voting and impersonation is un-Islamic as it amounts to cheating.

It may be mentioned that recently, Republic TV had claimed that they have found “mega voter Scam” after conducting the door-to-door survey. It was alleged that in Old City, there are over 1.5 lakh bogus voters whose votes are cast during the polling day. Fingers were also raised at Election Commission.
