Hyderabad: Fake CBI officer arrested at RGIA

Hyderabad: The RGI airport officials in Hyderabad have arrested a fake CBI officer after receiving a complaint from the Income Tax Department.

Along with seizing 26 lakhs from the accused, the airport authorities have also seized a fake CBI ID card, Four Envelops, letter head of Central Vigilance Commission and boarding pass of M Nageshwar Rao.

The airport officials had earlier received a complaint of Income Tax Officer, Air Intelligence Unit and arrested the accused M Nageshwar Rao who is now under judicial custody.

According to the Income Tax officials, Rao has reportedly confessed that he was carrying the cash to settle down a land dispute case pending in court for Panchayath Department employee.

He was previously working as an accounts manager in a private company but was removed from the service due to ill health. Since then he was faking to be a CBI official and would impersonate as Deputy Chief Investigation Officer of CBI department. The accused Rao would even look into official work at AP Secretariat using his fake ID.
