Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a fake ‘Baba’ at his house located at Asad Baba Nagar in Bahadurpura. The girl had visited ‘Baba’ for treatment of insomnia.
Ahmed Khan, alias Baba (45) raped the girl when she visited his house alone. She had come to his house earlier accompanied by her mother.
Her mother trusted ‘Baba’ and sent her daughter alone to his house as she had gone to hospital.
Police registered a criminal case against the fake ‘Baba’ and arrested him.
Giving the details of this case, the police inspector, D. Guru Naidu of Bahadurpura Police Station told that the victim was suffering from insomnia and fatigue for which her mother had decided to take the help of ‘Baba’.
According to the news reported in DC, the family members of the accused were not at home when he committed the crime.
Girl narrated the incident to her mother when she came back home. The victim also revealed that ‘Baba’ threatened her.
After knowing the incident, the mother of the girl approached police and filed a complaint. Police registered the case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Section 376 of IPC.
It is to be mentioned that fake ‘Baba’, Ahmed Khan was a truck driver earlier. For the magical services he offered, he used to charge Rs. 400 to Rs. 500 per sitting.
