Hyderabad: Enrolments of voters in 15-Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad will start on December 26, according to district election authorities. Citizens who would have attained the age of 18 years as on January 1, 2019 and people whose names have been missed in the electoral rolls can enroll themselves. The last date of enrolment is January 25, 2019. Claims and objection such as change in name, address and other details can also be filed till January 25.
The final list will be published on February 22, according to district election authorities. Applications received will be verified till February 11 and printing of electoral rolls will be taken up from February 18. Special campaigns are scheduled every Sunday from December 26 to January 25 to enroll voters.
“Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is involving various NGOs, residential welfare associations RWAs and other social organizationos for the special summary revision of electoral rolls. We duly request them to appoint volunteers who will work along with both level agents appointed by political parties”, said GHMC commissioner Dana Kishore.
The civic body has requested State election authority for an additional 140 polling stations in Hyderabad.
