Hyderabad: A 45-year-old woman was killed inside the house when a drunk youth rammed his car into the house in Gowlidoddi on Monday morning, reports said.
The deceased identified as T Madhu Bai, wife of late Satwaji was in the bathroom when the mishap happened.
According to police the accused’s Blood Alcohol Count (BAC) was 160mg/100ml, drove the car into the median. The hatchback flipped across the median and crashed into a house on the right side of the road.
Madhu Bai who went into the bathroom around 6.30am to get ready for morning puja, the accused’s car Datsun Go hatchback (TS12EA1169) driven by 25-year-old Md Ikram Ali, rammed into the compound wall of Madhu Bai’s house.
“The bathroom was next to the compound wall and the car slid across the abutting road and crashed into that wall. The wall collapsed into the bathroom and Madhu Bai suffered multiple injuries including a severe head injury,” Gachibowli inspector R Srinivas said.
Though Madhu Bai was rushed to a nearby corporate hospital by family members she breathed her last at 7.58am while undergoing treatment.
The drunken accused was immediately caught by locals and handed over to the police, TOI reports.
Two-quarter bottles of whiskey were also seized from the accused’s car.
“The BAC reading was 160mg/100ml and as the reading was very high than the acceptable mark of 30mg/10 ml, the accused was booked under Section 304 (ii) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the IPC,” the inspector added.
According to the Police, the drunken driven Ikram Ali is a B Tech third-year dropout and was returning from a party in Barkas for his home in Tolichowki.
Ikram’s father is a civil engineer and works for a private firm, added Police.
