Hyderabad: Dalit Girl’s gang rape case solved, 5 held

Siddipet: The Siddipet Police have arrested five of the six accused in the gang-rape case of a 16-year-old Dalit girl who was a native of Rayavaram in Jagadevpur Mandal on Saturday.

The arrested accused were identified as Sivarathri Venkat (21), Sivarathri Anjaneyulu (21), Alakuntla Parushuramulu (23), Alakuntla Rajinikanth (19) and MD Raheem (23) while the sixth accused in the case Sriramulu, is still on the run,TT reports.

During the interrogation, the police found that six men had exploited her thrice in a span of 10 days while the victim had alleged only three men raped her.

ACP Narayana said two of the accused Parushuramulu and Rajinikanth also from Jagadevpur Mandal are brothers, Venkat is a native of Ainapur village while Anjaneyulu a native Nizamabad’s Bodhan was identified as the main accused, who trapped the girl by giving her missed calls, and Raheem was the girl’s neighbour in Rayavaram.

A case has been booked against the accused under the POCSO Act, SC, ST Atrocities Act and other sections while the arrested accused have been sent to remand.
