Hyderabad: Corporates assume responsibility in beautifying the ‘City of Pearls’

Hyderabad: GHMC is mobilizing funds from the private companies of west zone as part of their obligation for Corporate social responsibility to make arrangements for Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES-2017). In 2012, during CoP 11 summit held in Hyderabad, the civic body has spent Rs 70 lakh for the beautification of the city.
According to a report published in Deccan Chronicle today, nearly Rs 1 crore has been collected so far and of the collected amount around Rs 25 lakh would be allocated towards electric works. Other works include painting and beautification works like enhancing greenery, said GHMC officials.
Stone Craft and ITC have been sponsoring sculptures which will be setup across various locations of the city. Kalakriti Art Gallery is sponsoring painting activity on the Hitech city flyover.
The civic body is holding talks with other private firms to encourage them to make contributions towards the decoration of the city.
Responsibility for maintenance and enhancement of greenery even after the summit has been assumed by Companies such as Synchrony Financial, Real Page, JRC International and Colruyt Consultancy.
Rs 15 lakh each has been contributed by Biological E Limited, the Aparna Group, DLF Limited and the Aditya Group.
Other firms which have come forward to beautify the city include Shah Ghouse, Godavari Homes and @home.
