Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police have intensified investigation into the Million March criminal cases registered against the public and members of the Joint action committee against CAA and NRC. Investigators of various police stations have issued notices to many youths under CRPC section 41(A) for allegedly violating the conditions of police permission for January 4, Million March at Dharna Chowk Indra park.
Cops start summoning youths
By issuing notices, the police have started summoning those youths who have actively taken part in the Million March and their names are included in the more than twenty FIRs issued by various police stations across the city. It is learned that, in order to file the charge-sheets in these cases at earliest, sleuths of Hyderabad police have started issuing notices to the accused under CRPC section 41(A). The sudden police action has created unrest among the youths.
In the FIRs Police alleged that Mushtaq Malik and his followers violated the conditions of the Joint Commissioner of Police, Central Zone who had accorded permission for a protest on January 4 at Indira park Dharna Chowk. Despite clear instructions of not permitting more than one thousand persons to take part in Million March, but the followers of the JAC convenor took out the rally by obstructing the free flow of traffic.
Sup-moto action
In suo-moto action, city police have registered more than twenty cases under IPC sections 143(Unlawful Assembly), 341(Wrongful Restraint) and 290 (Nuisance). To strengthen prosecution evidence in the Million March cases, the names, vehicle numbers of those who have taken part in March have been included in the FIRs. That’s not all, the photographs and videos gathered by the police during the Million March will be used as evidence in the case and will be produced before the concerned courts.
“Chilkalguda police have issued a CRPC notice to me and the sub-inspector has asked to appear in the police station on January 11, the swift police action in the Million March cases is unwarranted” said Syed Shafiuddin a resident of Malkajgiri who has been cited as an accused.
The JAC has already denounced the police action taken against peaceful Million March rally.
