Hyderabad cop directing traffic in knee-deep water, wins hearts

Hyderabad: A Traffic Police officer is winning hearts over his gesture that went viral after a heavy downpour in Hyderabad City on Friday. The video shows constable standing in knee-deep water, directing the traffic.

The video was shot by a car driver who was impressed by the traffic cop’s commitment as he holds an umbrella with one hand and directs the traffic with the other. The video was taken on Friday evening, however, the location is unclear.

The Hyderabad City Police acknowledged the appreciation after the driver uploaded the footage on Twitter, reported The News Minute.

“@hydcitypolice this is incredible job guiding us to safety in #rains #hydpolice @KTRTRS @HYDTP salute!!!”(sic), the driver posted on Twitter.

“Please let me know his details I would love to gift him something or maybe his kids,” he added later.

Hyderabad had witnessed a heavy and non-stop rain on Friday, especially in the IT Corridor, with Madhapur recording 8 cm of rainfall, While areas like Uppal, Marredpally, Himayathnagar and Quthbullapur recorded 4cm.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a two-day warning till October 2.
“Thunderstorm associated with heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana,” the warning reads.
