Hyderabad: Unemployed and desperate, man sells two-month old son

Hyderabad: A man sold away his two-month-old son for monetary gain, and gave away his child for Rs 30,000. The incident came to light after the child’s mother lodged a complaint with the police.

According Rajendranagar to police, Syed Haider and Shahana Begum, residents of MM Pahadi, had a two-month-old baby. For the past two or three days, Haider who has been unemployed since the COVID-19 lockdown imposed last year, was arguing with his wife to sell their baby, so that he could purchase things for their home.

The mother then approached the police, as she grew suspicious as their child has gone missing on Saturday. She suspected Haider if selling heir baby boy. Eventually, she lodged a complaint with the Rajendranagar police alleging that her husband sold her son for Rs 30,000 to purchase some goods. The police have registered a case and investigation is underway.
