Hyderabad: Cellphone driving landed over 140 in jail

Every day people die in car accidents because of using cell phones while driving. According to research, cell phones are leading factors that cause accidents. Studies show that a cell phone put drivers at a four-time greater risk of a crush. Despite a danger, people still use cell phones because they want to be always available and keep in touch with other people.

The Hyderabad traffic police cracked down on those using cell phones while driving. As many as 141 persons were jailed till now this year. Out of which one person was jailed for four days and 96 members were jailed for two days.

“We are doing our best to curb the menace of cell phone driving in the city. We are continuously conducting the drives and booking cases on the people with evidence who were talking under Section 184 of Motor vehicle act.” Anil Kumar said Additional Commissioner of police (traffic).

“The problem from the cell phone driving apart from the normal driver’s nowadays we have these taxi companies namely Ola and Uber they are constantly on the phone when they are driving so this should be minimised. By using the cell phone while driving they are putting the passenger’s life at dangers. The way we are depending on mobile we can’t really stop that but we should try and curb the way they use it.” said Ahsan Pasha Traffic Sense Hyderabad.
