Hyderabad: After getting clearance from Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), “Padmavat” is ready for release on 25th January. However, Karni Sena continues its protest against the movie.
According to the news published in DC, Raja Singh, BJP MLA of Goshamahal allegedly ordered the theatre managements against releasing “Padmavat”.
It is also reported that Mr. Singh talking to newsmen, said that he has ordered four theatre managements not to show “Padmavat” in their cinema houses. He further warned that if they do so, they would face protests from Karni Rajputs.
He said that he has met the managers of Ramakrishna, Santosh-Sapna, Maheshwari-Parameshwari and Venkataramana theatres and ordered them not to exhibit the movie. He also asked them not to buy movie else they will incur losses.
He further said that there are around 15 lakh Rajputs in the city and they have been asked to launch a protest against the release of the movie. He mentioned his intention to meet CM of TS, Mr. KCR to request him to ban “Padmavat” in the State.
On the other hand, the managers of these theatres did not make any comments on the issue.
Reacting on the statement of Mr. Raja Singh, Vice-President of the Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce, Mr. V.L. Sridhar said as the movie is not banned in the State and CBFC has given green signal, “Padmavat” is likely to be screened.
Talking on this, Police Commissioner Mr. V.V. Srinivas said that if there is no ban on the movie, police protection will be provided to the theatres.
It may be mentioned that this film has been banned in MP and Gujarat. However, UP Govt. did not impose any ban on the movie. Telangana Govt. also has not put any ban on “Padmavat”.
