Hyderabad: A complaint has been lodged by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) vice-president against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for hurting sentiments of Hindus by praising the last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan.
BJYM leader Singapuram Bharat Raj said KCR distorted history of Hyderabad and praised Nizam in a bid to appease Muslims.
In his complaint registered on Thursday, he claimed that Nizam had refused to collaborate with the Indian Union and negotiated for a merger with Pakistan, Raj told Hindustan Times.
“Thousands of people of Telangana, particularly the Hindus, had lost their lives in fighting against the oppressive regime of the Nizam. It was recorded in the history that the private army of the Nizam had resorted to large-scale atrocities on Hindus, raped thousands of women and paraded them nakedly on streets. KCR is ignoring all these facts and is praising the Nizam only to appease the minorities for the sake of power,” he added.
Moreover, KCR hurt the sentiments of Hindus by praising such a tyrant, Raj said. He asked the police for the necessary action against Telangana CM, he added.
Meanwhile, Inspector B Ramesh of Mahankali police station confirmed that he had received a complaint from BJYM leader. “We are examining the genuineness of the complaint and further action will be taken only after taking the legal opinion,” Ramesh said.
Last week during a discussion on minority, KCR had described last Nizam a noble ruler who took up welfare and developmental work in the state.
“The erstwhile Andhra rulers had wrongly projected the Nizam and showed him as a villain. I am going to get the history of Hyderabad rewritten to project the true picture of the Nizam. After all, he was our king,” KCR had said.
