Hyderabad: This year on the account of the Holi festival, which will be celebrated on March 29, beef and liquor shops in the city will remain closed, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar said in a notification.
Lokesh Kumar requested the concerned civic body wings to instruct all respective officers to extend necessary cooperation to the municipal staff in carrying out the orders.
All the wine shops, bars and toddy shops will be closed for two days from 6 pm on March 28 to 6 am on March 30 in Hyderabad, said Hyderabad police commissioner Anjani Kumar.
In the orders released, the commissioner asked the public not to cause inconvenience to others and avoid playing with colours on roads. Restrictions were also imposed on vehicles roaming in groups.
