A one-month-old baby girl was found buried on the roadside, the employees of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), who were sweeping the roads, found the baby wrapped in a cloth and buried on the roadside with a heap of garbage dumped on it.
This incident took place near HUDA Park in Rajendranagar in Hyderabad. The sweepers then immediately informed the police. The body has been sent for the postmortem examination, the police suspect that the baby had died of starvation.
Rajendranagar inspector G. Suresh said, “on inspecting the scene, it was found that the baby aged about one month, was buried after death. It looked like the girl child had died due to starvation or some other health complications. The body has been sent for autopsy at Osmania General Hospital.”
“A case has been registered under section 318 of IPC which says whoever, by secretly burying or disposing off the dead body of a child shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine, or with both, a team of police is verifying the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the vicinity to identify the persons who abandoned the body.
