Hyderabad: Alleged murderer of 12-year-old Urooj arrested

Hyderabad: Chandrayangutta police arrested Shaik Muneeruddin, a student of B.Com for allegedly murdering a Madrasa student, Mohammed Uroojuddin Ahmed alias Rafi. It is alleged that it is an organized crime for money.

DCP of South Zone, Mr. V. Satyanarayana informed that Shaik Muneeruddin (21) resident of Jahangirabad, Bandlaguda took a 12-year-old Urooj on his motorbike from his Madrasa under the pretext of showing him a peacock. He took him to a nearby pond and murdered him strangling his neck and threw the dead body in to the pound.

According to the reports, the brother of slain, Sohail had told Muneeruddin he got Re. 1 crore by selling a plot of land in Falaknuma area. The accused used to see the crime serials of Sony TV channel and he got inspired by those serials.

Mr. Satyanarayana further told that after murdering Urooj, the accused took out his clothes. He had planned to get money from Urooj’s parent but with the fear of getting arrested, he changed his plan and burnt the clothes.

Police got the clue from the CCTV footage of the Madrasa which shows Muneeruddin carrying Urooj on his motorbike. The accused was arrested and produced in the court. The court sent him to jail.
