Hyderabad on alert after attacks on Muslim youths

Hyderabad, November 09: The Hyderabad police is maintaining alert in order to track a group, which is involved in the attack on three Muslim youths yesterday night. Unknown miscreants have attacked 23 years old Omer Farooq of Old Malakpet near Kachiguda slaughter house while he was on way back to his home along with his friend Arif.

According to the sources Omer Farooq who works at a popcorn shop at kingkoti was attacked with a sharp weapon from back side leading to the grevious injury on his head. He was rushed to Osmania General Hospital late in the night where he was treated and later shifted to a private hospital at Kothapet his condition is believed to be critical.

The eyewitness said that there were three attackers riding a bike and immediately after the attack they fled from the scene. The Additional Commissioner Police Law and Order Amit Garg visited the Osmania Hospital late in the night and the Kachiguda Police has registered.

In another similar incident, two youths namely Kareem of Purani Haveli and Azeem of Noorkhan Bazaar were attacked while they were on the way back to home after having dinner at a Dhaba in Bowenpally area. Inspector Bowenpally G.Srinivas said “The attackers might have used a sharp edged weapon for attacking Azeem and Kareem”.

However the Commissioner of Police A.K.Khan said that as many as 40 suspects have been picked up by the Task force sleuths and the city has been put on alert.
