Hyderabad: GMR led Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL) is all set to organize the first of its kind ‘Airport Run’ event on 29th Feb, 2020.
Promoted as ‘Hyderabad Airport Run 2020’, this unique evening run (from 5 PM onwards) with a tagline of ‘Run… Eat… Play… Repeat…’ will not only engage the runners but also their family and friends on the lines of a festive carnival that will indulge the participants with a fun, food, and music. Aligned to its objective of stakeholder engagement of ‘One Family, One Mission’, GHIAL is reaching out not only to the airport community but the entire population of Hyderabad City as part of the engagement, making it a unique event in the picturesque backdrop of the airport campus.

The event would feature two categories a 10K run with a participation fee of Rs 800 and a 5K run with a participation fee of Rs 500 respectively. Registrations are already open and are filling up fast.
The minimum age limit to participate in the Run is 12 years for the 5K category and 14 years for the 10K timed category respectively. Participants can register online at https://www.ifinish.in/event_details/Hyderabad_Airport_Run_2020. This portal will be open for the registrations till 22 February 2020.
This run is unique in that very few such runs are conducted in the evening in India and that too in an airport setting. A significant objective of the run is to entertain and engage family and friends of the participants making it an evening of wholesome entertainment and fitness.
As part of the run, the airport is also opening its doors to select registered participants, chosen through a lucky draw to showcase and give a guided educational tour to some specific areas of the airport operations viz. Aircraft MRO (Maintenance Repair & Overhaul), Flight Simulation Centre, Flight Kitchens.

The ‘Airport Run’ will begin from the GMR Arena, near the Novotel Hyderabad Airport Hotel. The run is supported by a few sponsors viz. Aparna Constructions as the Title Sponsor; Aviserve and HMS Host as Platinum Sponsors.
Our own Hyderabad’s Capricio Band will be lending the musical aura after the run alongside a host of activities which include a flea market, a fun zone for children and a range of other amusement activities that are planned.
Exciting prizes await the winners participating in the 10k category, which is timed and will include cash prizes, return airline tickets and a host of other discount and retail vouchers.
