Hyderabad Airport plans traffic curbs during morning peak hours

GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GHIAL), which is operating Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, has announced today that in the wake of growing passenger traffic and to decongest the departure ramp, it has taken up the departure ramp widening work. During the ramp widening work, for smooth vehicular movement and better passenger experience, traffic diversions will be in place from 20th December onwards.

During this period, only private and radio cabs will be allowed on the departure ramp during the morning peak hours (4.00am-9.00am). All other yellow-plated vehicles will be diverted to the arrival ramp. This restriction will be applicable only during the above mentioned hours and the departure ramp will be open for normal traffic movement during all other times.

GHIAL requests support and cooperation of all passengers, taxi operators and other airport users. These diversions are necessitated for early completion of the ramp widening work and for enhancing the overall experience by providing smooth access to terminal building simultaneously from the departure and the arrival ramps, while saving the valuable time of the passengers. GHIAL is making all possible efforts to ensure that no inconvenience is caused to passengers due to these diversions.  (INN)
