President Pranab Mukherjee will arrive in Hyderabad on December 24 for his customary winter sojourn.
The President will stay at the Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bolarum, Secunderabad during his sojourn from December 24 to 31. The Rashtrapati Nilayam is one of the two official retreats of the President of India, the other being ‘The Retreat Building’ in Shimla. Spread across 90 acres, the Rashtrapati Nilayama is a single-storey building with 11 rooms. It is customary for the President to stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam at least once a year and conduct official business from there.
The arrangements for the President’s visit were discussed during a meeting attended by senior officials of both State and Centre Government here on Wednesday. It has been decided to complete the arrangements by December 20 which includes security and other amenities at Rashtrapati Nilayam. The GHMC has been asked to carryout repairs on all the roads leading to Bollaram on war footing basis. (INN)
