Hyderabad: Condemning the decision of abolition of conducting 105 Science Congress in Osmania University premises scheduled to be held January 3-7th, 2018, ABVP has demanded to conduct Science Congress in Osmania University only.
In a note, ABVP central working committee member Matta Raghavender alleged that shifting of venue of 105th Science Congress from Osmania University to other university was nothing but an insult to 100 years old Osmania University. He demanded the Osmania University vice-chancellor Prof Ramachandram to tender resignation owning responsibility for expressing inability to conduct the Science Congress. He alleged that the Science Congress Committee cancelled conducting Science Congress in Osmania University just because of state government’s pressure.
The state government spoiled academic atmosphere in Osmania University by announcing 45 days holidays to the students. He said that the education policy of state government was reflecting with the cancellation of conducting 105th Science Congress in Osmania University. It was blot on the education system of Telangana state, he said and alleged that vice-chancellors of universities of Telangana state were become puppets in the hands of Telangan state government and fumed saying that the TRS government was destroyed the autonomous status of universities in the state. He alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was trying to defame the Osmania University’s name in revenge manner.

Alleging that KCR spent Rs 100 crore for World Telugu Conferences to prove that he was a pundit in Telugu and in the same manner KCR spent hundreds of crores for GES to prove that his son was an expert in English language. He alleged that it was shame on the part of KCR to forget the Osmania University which gave power alms to him and stated that KCR’s education policy came to knew very well when he appointed Prof Papi Reddy, who was not even worked as vice-chancellor in his life time, as Higher Education chairman. He alleged that KCR was dividing the people, who unitedly achieved separate Telangana state, in the name of castes religion in a manner like a Made Tuglaq for the sake of mere votes.
Stating that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu made 104th Science Congress a big success while supervising them, Raghavender questioned KCR to tell as to why he was not showing such an enthusiasm in conducting Science Congress in that manner. He demanded KCR to initiate steps to conduct 105th Science Congress in Osmania University, which was heart of Telangana state. He asked KCR to change his attitude towards Osmania University and strive for the development of the University. He said that the students were ready to extend their cooperation in this regard.
