Hyderabad: A sound system reportedly exploded while being switched on at Habeeb Colony in Balapur here on Saturday, leaving a seven-year-old boy injured.
Balapur police informed that Mohd Shaik Aziz, a student of a Madarsa and a resident of Shaheen Nagar had gone to his grandmother’s house in Habeeb Colony. From there one of his friends named Mohd Arshad Ali took him to his house where he was playing with the loud speaker. Meanwhile he tried to switch on the sound system by plugging a wire into the switch board which caused a sudden explosion, injuring Aziz’s both hands.
On hearing the blast sound, neighbours rushed into the house and shifted Aziz to hospital where he is being treated. His condition is said to be stable.
Aziz’s father lodged a complaint with the Balapur police against Mohd Arshad Ali (13). He also alleged that Arshad Ali and his mother Nasrin did not inform him about the incident and were negligent.
Investigations are underway.
