HYDERABAD: On Thursday morning five workers died after falling from 10th floor of an undergoing construction building of State government’s double bedroom housing project and another was injured.
According to the Time Of India report, the incident occurred around 11:30 am when the construction work of the government’s housing project was on.
The deceased were identified as Saif-Ul-Haq (26), Abhijit Roy (18), Saifal Rai (32), Shaik Milan (22) and Yash Kumar Chowdhary (30).
While four of them died on the spot, one died in the hospital. The condition of the injured, Beebul Roy, 18, was stated to be critical.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to Gandhi Hospital morgue.
GHMC Mayor, B Rammohan said that an inquiry will be launched to find how this accident took place and the deceased would get all the necessary support from the government.
“We will make sure that the families of the labourers get the ex-gratia from the labour department, GHMC and contractor,” he added.
He announced total ex-gratia of Rs 15 lakh each to the family members of the deceased.
