Hyderabad: 400-yr-old Masjid-e-Sultania Dargah neglected, urgent attention needed

Hyderabad: Masjid-e-Sultania Dargah which is 400-year-old, located in Maruthi Nagar needs urgent attention as its condition is deteriorating day-by-day.

According to the report published in TOI, vegetation is grown on it. Cracks are also found on the walls of the monument. Water is leaking from dome and walls of the structure.

Despite bring the issue to the notice of officials, no action has been taken to renovate the Masjid. Talking on the Masjid, Shamsheer Ali, a resident of Maruthi Nagar said that Masjid-e-Sultania Dargah was constructed around 400 years ago. It was built during the rule of the Qutub Shahi Dynasty, he added. Another person by name Mohammed Sameer informed that no one came to conduct repair activities. He added that he visits the place since his childhood.

Talking about the Masjid, a heritage activist, Anuradha Reddy said that as no one giving attention towards the masjid, land grabbers are getting encouraged. Reddy also demanded to register Masjid-e-Sultania Dargah as a heritage structure.
