Hyderabad: Hyderabad City Traffic Police is taking stern action against traffic violators. Police is also implementing “Traffic Penalty Point System” seriously.
According to the news published in DC, three persons are convicted for non-payment of traffic challans. Driving licences of 30 other traffic violators were also cancelled.
It is also reported that two persons landed in jail for driving without a licence.
It may be mentioned that if a person is caught and convicted for drunk driving, he/she may face difficulties while applying for government jobs, passport and visa.
Last week, from Monday to Friday, 493 chargesheets were filed against drunk drivers. They were produced in the court.
It may be noted that if a person exceeds the limit of traffic violations, his/her traffic licence can be cancelled.
Earlier, District Transport Officer of Medchal, Road Transport Authority, Srinivas Puppalla said that if anyone exceeds 6 Traffic Penalty Points, he/she can get his/her points reduced by attending ‘defensive driver training’. Attendance in one session will result in the reduction of 3 penalty points. By attending two such sessions in two years, commuters can get their 6 penalty points reduced.
