Hyderabad: A 25-year-old engineer was throttled to death by her friend at a city lodge on 4 April.
According to TOI report, the victim identified as Lavanya, an engineer from Gachibowli. She was in love with Sunil alias Dileep (25), who is her classmate too.
R Rama Chandra Rao, inspector of RC Puram said, Sunil told Lavanya and her family that he got a job in Muscat and convinced her family to send Lavanya with him so that she too get a job there, her family agreed to him.
On 4 April, he with Lavanya and her family went to RGI airport and when her family left, he, instead of boarding took Lavanya and checked into a lodge at Shamshabad. He then throttled her to death there and stuffed the body in suitcase, he added.
Lavanya told her family that she will be back on 7 April from Muscat. Sunil uses her cellphone and chat with her family on whatsapp till 7 April, after that he switched off her mobile.
On 7 April, her family lodged a missing complaint at RC Puram police station. After analyzing the call details of Lavanya, police suspect Sunil.
On Saturday, police caught him and he confessed to have killed Lavanya as she was forcing him to marry.
Police recovered the decomposed body of Lavanya and send for autopsy and registered a case under Section 302 (murder) of the IPC.
