Hyderabad: Cyberabad Cyber Cell police arrested a techie for blackmailing his schoolmate.
According to the report published in Telangana Today, B. Hemanth Kumar (24), a resident of Kukatpally Housing Board Colony was allegedly harassing his schoolmate. He was demanding sexual favours.
He also said that he would upload her obscene photos on Facebook and adult website if she fails to fulfill his demand.
The victim, a resident of Pragathi Nagar approached police and lodged a complaint on Thursday. In her statement, the victim disclosed that she was receiving threatening messages from the unknown person.
Giving the details of the case, DCP (Crimes), Ms. Janaki Sharmila told that both victim and the accused were school friends. After schooling, they again got in touch through facebook in 2012.
She also told that victim was receiving threatening messages since January.
Police registered a case and arrested him. Police traced him using Internet Protocol address. Later, the court sent him into judicial custody.
