Hyderabad: In a shocking incident reported from the city, a 22-year-old woman was trafficked to Kuwait after she was promised employment in the gulf.
The victim identified as Ms. Zakiya Mirza was approached by an agent who promised her to employ her as a beautician in Kuwait country, TOI reports.
Victim’s mother Safiya Begum has now appealed the Union Minister Sushma Swaraj to rescue her daughter Zakiya has been forced to work as housemaid after she landed in Kuwait on January 23, 2019.
“My daughter protested being forced to work as a housemaid and has been cheated, her employer demanded that she repay him Rs 1 lakh as he had paid that amount to the agent who sent her to Kuwait. She was taken to Kuwait on a tourist visa,” said Zakiya’s mother.
The names and numbers of the travel agents of Hyderabad and Kuwait have been forwarded to the Union Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Social activist Amjed Ullah Khan has brought the issue to the notice of the Indian Embassy in Kuwait for further action into the matter.
