Hyderabad: The Falaknuma Police on Saturday organized a “Job Connect” program at The Progress High School, Engine Bowli as part of its ‘community policing’ initiative. The program was conducted under the supervision of K. Srinivasa Rao, Inspector, Falaknuma PS under the guidance of M.A. Rasheed, ACP, Falaknuma Divison.
A total of 4,200 youth — both men and women – having various educational qualifications attended the program held between 9 am and 5 pm. Some 23 companies, who participated in the program, offered various jobs, including electrician, security guards, para-medical, accountant, IELTS, and IT-based jobs and others. The companies offered jobs for varied educational qualifications both technical and non- technical between VII standard and PG levels.
Job aspirants from across the old city and the neighboring areas of Mailardevpally, Pahadishareef, Balapur, and Rajendranagar also turned up at the program. Companies, who participated in the event were Apollo Pharmacy, Kairos Composite Services Private Limited, GVK Emergency Management and Research Institute, Big Bazaar (Future Group), Aegis Customer Support Services among others. The pay offered was between Rs 96,000 per annum and Rs 3 lakh per annum.
In the run-up to the event, the Falaknuma police had earlier organized road shows and street corner enrolment camps to mobilize and facilitate the job aspirants for registering for the program. In the total 2,000 jobs, some 800 were meant for women candidates.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, said the Telangana police were taking up several “social initiatives” as part of its community-based policing initiatives. The Job Connect is one such initiative. “We want our youth to stand atop the country and become a partner in the development of the society and lead a happy and dignified life. Our Job Connect van moves around the city bridging the gap between the job aspirants and recruiting companies,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Amber Kishore Jah, IPS, said the police have ensured that many women and girls are turning up for the event. “It shows there was a demand for jobs from the women and girls. Keeping note of it in previous experiences, we have approached a few companies, including IELTS based, who are keen on offering jobs to women. Eight hundred of the 2,000 jobs offered at the event are for the women and girls,” he said. On the occasion, ACP (Falaknuma) M A Rasheed; SHO A Srinivasa Rao also spoke.
