Hyderabad: Two persons were reportedly arrested for assaulting a doctor in himayathnagar two days ago.
But the suspects alleged the doctor had misbehaved with a woman which resulted in the assault.
According to city police, the incident took place on Friday evening when a woman approached a clinic with a child.
“There was some issue between the doctor Michael Aranha and the woman following which the latter called her family members who attacked the doctor,” said Narayanguda Sub Inspector Narayanguda, B Dayakar Reddy.
The assault on doctor resulted in him filing a complaint with the police who registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Telangana Medical Service Persons and Medical Service Institutions (prevention of violence and damages to property) Act.
The two suspects Mustafa and Abu Fazil, were later arrested.
The woman too filed a complaint against the Doctor Aranha, TT reports.
Meanwhile, the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP), Twin Cities said a few corporate hospitals including private clinics, nursing homes shut outpatient services for paediatric cases for the next 24 hours in the State capital.
