Hyderabad: Hyderabad police on Saturday night caught 17 teenagers including two minors for bike racing near KBR Park and Jubilee Hills. The accused were held during enforcement drives against rash and careless driving.
Addressing a press conference ACP Masoon Basha said that teams had credible information that teenagers were planning to take part in bike racing.
“They were passing information through WhatsApp groups and fixing an area to acquire. From the fixed point, they begin racing for smaller distances. However, they may be not making a bet cash on racing, the bikers are violating the MV Act,and booked under Sections 181, 130/177, 183, 184 and 189 of MV Act.
All the accused and their parents were counselled and warned not to enjoy hustling.
Noting a question, Mr Basha said, “Riding the bike above the mentioned speed limit in any particular area will be considered as violation and racing. Teenagers are finding thrill in dashing, but We want them to understand that it may also kill.
