Hyderabad: As many as 23 persons were sent to jail for driving without a license.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 1178 cases of driving without license during a special drive conducted from 1st to 26th August. The police filed charge sheet in 780 cases and imposed fines in 757 cases. Of 23 persons who were sent to jail, one person was sentenced for 4 days, 19 persons for three days, one person for two days and two persons were sent to jail for one day.
The Traffic Police have announced that in respect of cases Without Driving License the vehicle will be detained and it will be released only after the violator possess driving license or learner’s license from Road Transport Authority and the violator will be charge sheeted and produced in the court of law.
