Hyderabad: Serilingampally Assembly would see a drop in the number of voters in its list since nearly 1.4lakh migrated workers, techies and others have relocated from their current addresses.
The list was obtained after GHMC conducted a door-door survey in the area and found nearly 1.4 lakh voters have relocated to other areas.
Deputy Commissioner Serilingampally Circle V. Mamtha in a statement confirmed the same saying “We found many voters given incorrect details. We also identified 1.4 lakh voters to be removed. Majority of voters in the removal list are techies and migrated workers”.
Adding that few exceptions are still valid saying “We are not removing the door-lock cases. As per the rules, our staff has to visit them three times in the next few days.”
According to the officials in Serilingampally assembly in all the three circles, only 2 percent of the verification process is now left for the new applicants.
After removal of about 1.4 lakh voters and an addition of 41,123 applicants to the Serilingampally Assembly voters list the number of voters would drop to 4.75 lakh voters against its previous list of 6.15 lakh voters.
