Hyd student beaten up with aluminium rod by teacher, suffers head injuries

Hyderabad: A Class 4 student was allegedly beaten up with an aluminium rod by his teacher for not completing homework.

The child, who studies in Narayan School of Alwal suffered a head injury in the incident that took place on Saturday.

Boy’s father, Shiva Kumar, received a call from the school and was informed that his son was injured after falling down. However, the school later admitted that he was thrashed by his computer science teacher, reported The News Minute.

Kumar was also allegedly asked by the school to not to highlight the matter. Afraid of any further harassment of child for filing a complaint, Kumar did not approach the police.

Meanwhile, Balala Hakkula Sangham (BHS) – a child welfare organization – filed the complaint with Cyberabad commissioner and Alwal police.

According to BHS president, Achyuta Rao, the school violated two laws laid down by the government; beating a student and the other giving homework to students below Class 5.

Speaking to TNM, Alwal Inspector, V Srikanth Goud, said that they have received a complaint and would register a case under the Child Protection Act and other relevant sections.
