Union minister Kavuri Sambashiva Rao today said that pained at the latest developments on Division of the State, he was forced to go to well which he never did in his political career.
‘Though I was a member of parliament for five times, I never did so’, he said with anguish, while taking to the media. He said he had raised objection when Telangana bill was circulated in the cabinet meeting as a table note. But nobody bothered then. If the state is divided for political gain, tomorrow another party in power will repeat the same thing, the union minister said.
‘If one region is getting injustice, can we keep quiet’, Kavuri questioned.
Another union minister, Chiranjeevi said the centre did not give any credence to their suggestions made in regard to division of the state. ‘We were forced to go to the well as our views were not taken into consideration and there was no other option for us’, he said.
Chiranjeevi made it clear that they were not against the decision of bifurcation, but want their suggestions should be looked into. He said that Hyderabad must be made a union territory. (NSS)
