Hyderabad: Hyderabad Traffic Police has joined hands with PVR Cinemas in its campaign to bring more traffic and road safety awareness among the citizens and make Hyderabad City roads more safe and accident free.
In this regard, City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, felicitated 50 citizens, who were following Traffic Rules and riding their vehicles without a single traffic violation in the last 10 to 15 years and were presented with complimentary gift coupons of PVR Cinemas.
Anil Kumar, Addl. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad, spoke about the new initiative of Hyderabad Traffic Police in collaboration with PVR cinemas, who came forward to give free movie tickets to the ideal drivers. To encourage and motivate all the road users to follow road rules and regulations, the PVR cinemas came forward to sponsor 200 free gift coupons to 200 good drivers every month and this will be continued up to six months. The validity of each PVR cinema coupon is up to October 15 which were distributed today.
Addressing the gathering, Anjani Kumar expressed his happiness over the Hyderabad Traffic Police’ initiative and the cooperation given by Amit Tyagi, General Manager PVR Ltd to encourage safe driving in Hyderabad City. He said Hyderabad City has emerged as an international business destination and top companies from all over the world have established their companies in the State capital and took Hyderabad city to the next level. The CP pointed out that a lot of people lost their lives in fatal road accidents due to not following traffic rules. He also requested parents to follow traffic rules as their children also will learn traffic rules by their good road behavior. He also stressed the need for wearing helmet as a safety measure but not to avoid traffic challan or in view of traffic cops. The CP requested the media people to become a partner to take the awareness programs to all the citizens to make Hyderabad as accident free city.
During the program, vehicles were checked randomly on the road near PCR complex and drivers’ record was checked online and those with no challan history were rewarded by the CP. L.S. Chowhan, IPS, DCP Traffic-I, K. Babu Rao, DCP Traffic-II, A. Bhaskar, Addl. DCP Traffic-I, P. Karunakar, Addl. DCP Traffic-II, ACsP and Inspectors of Hyderabad Traffic Police and Citizens, participated in the program.
