Alleged harassment by her unemployed husband drove a 30-year-old woman to suicide.
According to Bowenpally police, the victim, Shaheda Begum, who had set herself ablaze on February 4 at her residence in Tadban, died at the Gandhi Hospital on Sunday night. She took the extreme step after her husband Javeed beat her up in inebriated condition over some trivial issue. He was unemployed and was a habitual drunkard. He used to allegedly harass her on regular basis. Police have registered a case under section 306 against him and began investigation. (INN)
