Hyderabad: A 29-year-old woman succumbed to the burn injuries which she sustained after she was set ablaze allegedly by her husband.
The victim, M. Revathi, was set allegedly ablaze by her husband Bhikshapti at their residence in Errakunta on February 18. She was admitted to Gandhi Hospital where she died on Wednesday night. According to Nacharam police, Bhikshapati was a habitual drunkard and used to harass his wife for additional dowry. On February 18, he came to his residence in inebriated condition and beat up his wife and later set her ablaze by pouring kerosene.
A case under Section 302 and 498A has been registered against Bhikashapati. (INN)
