Husband post wife’s picture on Facebook

Dubai, July 07: An Indian man found himself in the dock on Wednesday for posting a photograph of his wife and her alleged boyfriend on his Facebook page.

F.P., 41, posted pictures of his wife and her friend on his own Facebook profile with a caption alongside reading: “A 37-year-old mother of two leaves her hubby for a 24-year-old-man. Good moveā€¦. Cute couple.”

F.P. was arrested from his office in Jebel Ali in February this year, after his wife, C.P., lodged a case against him. Prosecutors at the Court of Misdemeanours charged him with publishing the woman’s picture on the social networking site without her knowledge. He was also charged with alcohol consumption.

F.P. confessed to both charges but was let off when he presented documents showing his wife had pardoned him.

“My wife and I have been married for 12 years and we have two kids. She left me in July 2010 after she met another Indian man,” F.P. had earlier told police officers at Al Rifa’a police station. C.P. reportedly moved out of her husband’s house in Al Qusais and started living in an apartment in Al Karama with her children. “We started having fights over the new man in her life. “I told her that if she didn’t stop seeing him, I would post their picture on Facebook,” F.B. told prosecutors.

C.P. said she didn’t take the threats seriously, but when her husband sent her a text message to inform her that he had carried out the threat, she decided to lodge a case against him.

F.P. allegedly consumed three glasses of alcohol when he published the photograph on Facebook. F.P. told prosecutors he was not sure of the nature of his wife’s relationship with the man. “My wife says he’s like her brother,” he said.
