Haseena Khatoon resident of Kala Pathar studied till VII class, after that she did ‘aalima’ course. After completion of her course, she was married off in January 2010. At the time of marriage her in-laws demanded 1 lakh rupees which was conceded by her parents. Besides that she was also given 6 tola gold and complete furniture along with household items.
The groom was so poor that he borrowed Rs 50000 from Haseena’s parents a week before their marriage. Haseena’s brothers told the groom that there is a 100 sqyd plot on Haseena’s name, listening to which he was very much delighted.
Soon after the marriage Haseena’s husband who works as a salesman in a showroom, mortgaged Haseena’s jewelry and started asking for the plot. The two parties had a tug of war on the issue. The matter became intense and Haseena’s husband mother in law and sister in-law started harassing her.
Haseena’s bothers told that 4 days ago her in-laws beat the pregnant Haseena so badly that she miscarried. Inspite of the fact that she was pregnant her husband punched and kicked her in the stomach causing miscarriage to his 6 months pregnant wife.
Bride’s family told that they had agreed to give the plot on the condition that the in-laws retrieve her mortgaged gold jewelry but they failed to do so.
