Dubai, January 18: Legendary painter MF Husain, now on a self-imposed exile in the UAE, is planing to work on three grand art projects depicting the Indian civilisation “from Mahenjo-daro to Manmohan Singh”, the Arab civilisation and hundred years of Indian cinema.
The 94-year-old artist says he has already got sponsorship offers for two of the projects from London and Qatar, while for the third there are two contenders.
In a letter to his Mumbai-based friend Munna Zaveri, Husain wrote, “I have decided to work on three major projects.
The Indian civilisation from Mahenjo-daro to Manmohan Singh, the Arab civilisation dating back to Babylon and the hundred
years of Indian cinema.”
The completion of these projects may take the rest of his life, the `barefoot artist` said.
“And I remain ever grateful for all the love and care by the multitude of Indian people,” he wrote.
Husain recently told a news daily that he misses India “tremendously” but cannot return to his country because of the numerous cases filed against him for his art.
“I still paint a lot and I am busy with my works on Indian civilisation,” he had said.
