Hyderabad: South Zone police conducted a raid during cordon and search operation late on Sunday night and arrested fake godman and his associates for cheating a man by promising him to recover treasure underneath his house.
A team of cops headed by DCP South Zone V Satyanarayana raided a house in Uppuguda and apprehended fake godman Shaikh Sameer and his two associates Mohammed Zubair and Mohammed Ashfaq.
According to sources Shaikh Sameer made the victim Raheem Sultan believe that there was a treasure under his house and negotiated a deal and settled for 2 lakhs to recover the treasure. He took Rs. 10000 in advance.
Police foiled the bid and arrested Sameer and his two associates and confiscated material he was using for black magic.
