Hunger strike for Abdul Qadeer’s early release

Does the Government want to invite the Muslims to take part in the funeral prayers of former constable Abdul Qadeer?

For this state of affairs of Abdul Qadeer, Government is responsible. It violated the law and kept him imprisoned for 22 long years. If there is some amount of humanity left in the State government and its Chief Minister, they should arrange for better treatment of Abdul Qadeer and release him immediately as he has already served the life imprisonment in Cherlapally jail. These thoughts were expressed by the agitators who had assembled at Indira Park yesterday to show their solidarity with former constable Abdul Qadeer and also to participate in Hunger Strike Camp organized yesterday.

Revolutionary poet Gaddar in his speech told that there is a need to launch legal struggle for the release of Abdul Qadeer. He told that Mr. Abdul Qadeer assassinated Sattaiah not for his personal reasons. It was not a dispute of property. He killed him in the interest of community because he had committed a crime of killing an innocent baby. He killed him under the fit of passion for which he has already been punished. He told that the real culprit is the government which failed to control the communal riots. This situation had arisen because of the failure of the State government. He disclosed that when he was in jail, he used to meet Abdul Qadeer everyday. On one day, Abdul Qadeer told him that, “I killed Sattaiah and he died. I came to jail and then the peace of the city was restored. In this way, whatever I did, I did it for the sake of the community.”

He demanded the Chief Minister to release him immediately to save the human rights from being spoiled.

Mr. Amer Ali Khan, News Editor Siasat told that the release of Abdul Qadeer is a very sensitive issue and told that the entire Muslim community should strive for it. Targeting the politicians, he said that 5% of the population of the country consists of politicians. They prepare policies, keeping their interests in mind. Politicians didn’t do anything for the welfare the community during the past 50 years. Mr. Amer Ali Khan stressed the need for the civil society to participate actively. He confessed that by mistake we have started depending on politicians for getting our problems solved. Now we have to struggle on the basis of our talents and capabilities for getting our problems solved. Mr. Amer Ali Khan told that the average age of a common Indian is 60 years. Abdul Qadeer has reached this state. He served the police department upto 30 years and spent 22 years in jail. In this way, he has exhausted all his practical and active life. The government should release him on humanitarian grounds so that he could get justice.

Mr. Syed Azeez Pasha presided over the hunger strike programme. The others who participated in the hunger strike were, Maulana Naseeruddin, Maulana Hamid Mohammed Khan, Mr. Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Mr. Amjadullah Khan Khalid (MBT) Mr. Osman Bin Mohammed Al-Hajri, Comrade Nusrath Mohiuddin, Mr. Sanaullah Khan, Mr. V.S. Bose, Comrade Obulesh, Comrade Yousuf, Shamsuddin, Mannan (CPI) Mr. Hayath Hussain Habeeb and others.

Speaking on this occasion Mr. Naseeruddin described the troubles given in jail to prisoners. He told that even after two decades of imprisonment, the ego of Abdul Qadeer did not consent to beg for his release, but he has become physically weak. It is the obligation of the Muslim community to demand for his release. He told that the police officers trained by Israel find ways and means to get the persons of their choice released whereas Abdul Qadeer is the victim of communal feelings.

His only mistake is that he did not tolerate the humiliation of the community and he assassinated the person who humiliated the community. He pointed out that the culprits of Jubilee Hills bomb explosion case are released after Nine years. the favorite criminals of the Government are also release soon, but in the case of Abdul Qadeer, the government is acting on communal feelings.

Mr. Aziz Pasha in his speech told that very rarely, the prisoners are harassed in jails but in the case of Abdul Qadeer, the harassment he faced in horrible.
